The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful and The 'hostel' actually means a few rooms above a restaurant which has been operating since Prices you can't beat! Great price for standard of accomodation and location. Excellently situated in heart of old town, spotless, excellent staff. Reception lady was really dour, unfriendly and unhelpful Bedroom was dark and horrible No hairdryer Sister restaurant Meson de Rastro was nothing special and not worth 25 euro for dinner.
Location by city wall [near to it]I had booked the Hostal but got room in Hotel around the corner. Wi-Fi didn't work almost at all; not available in the room and worked occasionally only in the lobby. The walls between the rooms are very thin, we could clearly hear our neighbours talking. It was one of the most romantic places we've stayed ever! Beautiful view from the bedroom and fantastic location. They have the restaurant, so you can eat at there and they lend us glass. Guesthouse Hostal el Rastro. We had the menu del dia which is excellent value. Absolutely fantastic restaurant serving traditional Spanish food in traditional surroundings. Efficient and friendly staff. If you are still Friends from Madrid suggested this place, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely wonderful Judias de Avila, white beans swimming in a tomato-based stew and cooked with chorizo.
I don't really eat meat and dodged the chorizo, but the beans were delicious. As typical as a This is a great traditional spot in Avila, which serves delicious Spanish food - nothing like the tourist restaurants you might find around. The menu is full of classic dishes like Costillas, Escalopes, Tortillas, Croquetas Our waitress was extremely friendly and I went there 10 years ago. Encontramos este restaurante tipo mesón, como su nombre indica en un antiguo caserón castellano junto a la célebre muralla. Honesta cocina tradicional abulense. Cocina típica de la zona con una excelente sopa castellana bien presentada y servida, las carnes en su punto, buena materia prima y sin florituras.
